Well hello all,
I know it has been quite a while since I last put up an update. Not because I have not wanted to...simply because it has been a different transition phase in my life.
To make a looong story short...I will say that God has definitely had me in a season of REST and WAITING...two things which are not usually in my vocabulary, haha! But it is been so necessary to allow the Heavenly Father to "conform me into His likeness" and doing things within myself. I'll admit in saying that this phase has not been easy for me...but I know it is such a precious and needed time with God.
So what have I been doing? Besides resting in the Lord everyday...God has allowed me to spend so much wonderful time with my family. I had essentially been gone for 4 years while at Marshall and overseas; so it has been wonderful to truly live and be with my family. God has also opened some doors to work and earn money to help pay for things and bless others financially.
One opportunity that has come up is the possibility of traveling to Africa to help build a home that will be dedicated to my deceased Uncle. Unfortunately I was not yet born when my Dad's brother was tragically killed in a car accident, at the age of 30. But the memories of Uncle Donnie have long lived on within my family. Stories of the fun-loving, easy-going, and all-smiles-guy still are told. It's funny how you can feel like you know someone even without ever meeting them. So, my Aunt has teamed up with an organization in Canada who travels and does GREAT work over in Ethiopia, Africa. This project is to raise $10,000 to build a home for a family in need and it will be dedicated in the memory of my beloved Uncle. Any EXTRA proceeds will allow my cousin and myself to travel and actually help BUILD the house!
So I'm challenging YOU...to be prayer warriors with me! Let's pray that the Lord moves and stirs up in the hearts of people to give GOD's money that He has so generously blessed us with, and steward that to provide shelter..a HOME..for people in need! I pray that God would give us the conviction and the finances to also be able to support the building of this home!
